For those artists who walked out of the Grammys empty-handed, they get another chance at a trophy next month at the Billboard Music Awards on May 18.
Lorde, a newcomer to the awards, and Imagine Dragons boast the most nominations with 12 each. Lorde took over the radio last year with multi-platinum, Grammy-winning hit “Royals.” Imagine Dragons can credit their also multi-platinum, Grammy-winning “Radioactive” for their nods. Justin Timberlake follows them with 11 nominations.
As for individuals songs, Lorde, Pharrell, T.I. and Robin Thicke lead with five nods each. Katy Perry and Imagine Dragons follow with four each. Lorde and Imagine Dragons are up for the top Hot 100 song against Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” Perry’s “Roar” and Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball.”
