Paramount is in talks for North America rights to William H. Macy’s musical drama “Rudderless,” the closing night film at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.
The studio is planning to distribute the film with the Samuel Goldwyn Co. in the fall.
“Rudderless” stars Macy, Billy Crudup, Anton Yelchin, Selena Gomez, Laurence Fishburne and Felicity Huffman.
Macy made his feature directorial debut, helming from a script by Casey Twenter and Jeff Robison about a grieving father (Crudup) who finds salvation from the discovery of his deceased son’s demo tapes and lyrics.
Producers are Keith Kjarval of Unified Pictures and Brad Greiner. WME Global is representing the rights.
